How do we know that what you tell us is true? How do we know that your profession of being the Son of God is true.' And Jesus answered him in just a simple way (and note the test): 'If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God. or whether I speak of myself.' (John 7:17. Italics added)

Doing a thing, introducing it into your very being, will convince you whether it is good or whether it is bad. You may not be able to convince me of that which you know, but you know it because you have lived it. That is the test that the Savior gave to those men when they asked him how they should know whether the doctrine was of God or whether it was of man." (David O. McKay in CR, Oct. 1966, p. 136)
Wow! How true that principle is. Maybe I don't know what you know but I bet if you:
* exercise regurlarly -you know the benefits it has on your physical body
* eat right - you have experienced the energy healthy food provides your body
* spend time teaching your children - you have experienced the joys of motherhood
* attend the temple weekly - you absolutely love going there and feel the peace and revelation you receive while worshipping
* study your scriptures daily - you begin to truly feast spiritually upon them or in other words Luau like the Hawaiians
*Pray - you want to talk more to your Father
What is it that you want to acquire a knowledge of? Then start living it's principles and you will know for yourself if it is a good thing or a bad thing.
"There is a law irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated- And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated." (D&C 130:20-21)
I don't know everything but this much I do know you can't sit around and wait for the Lord to perform miracles in your behalf, you have to do something about it. It's like any relationship it takes effort. I know it works everytime.
