Well I ventured out on an exciting backpacking overnighter with the 4th year young women in our stake. Lucky for me I had my best friend Shawna with me to enjoy the fun. Shawna & I were called as co-camp directors in our ward. We are having so much fun planning camp together. Well back to the backpacking. It was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done. Well;
#1 - I'm not in the best shape of my life
#2 Hiking with a 50lb. pack on your back up a mountain 5 miles isn't the easiest thing I've ever done (now this wasn't just a little hop skip and jump down a sunny, flat, dirt trail)
#3 I had only 1.5 hours of sleep the night before
#4 How would you like to squat everytime you had to go to the bathroom with the fear that your backside would get eaten alive by mosquitos?
#5 The ground was hard, the air was cold, and I was holding it in for longer than I'd would have liked to (if you know what I mean)
Even though it was hard I had such a great time, I saw some of the prettiest country I've ever seen. It looked as if we were in a postcard. What a sense of satisfaction to have completed such a journey. I felt invinsible. There's nothing I can't do. Needless to say I am going to start Monday to get in shape. Happy Day!!!

You are awesome mom! Those kinds of hikes are hard and they really bring out a side in us which we don't see all the time. Great job on that tough hike!!
