Grandma

"Every time a child is born so is a grandma".  Being a grandma is by far one of the most rewarding titles I hold.  I was priviledged to witness the birth of my first two grandchildren, Katie Marie (2) & Caleb (1).  Words cannot describe the feeling of watching your daughters give birth and become mothers for the first time.  Katie Marie & Caleb both get excited when they see me.  I know that they really love me but it is fun watching the relationship both of them have with their own moms.  Grandma's cool but mom rocks.  I love watching them grow and develop.  It is so fun having them both live close.  I was thinking of how I can start creating memories with the two of them since they are so close now.  I am going to start what I call "Grandma hour".  Once a week I want them to come over and we will spend time together singing, reading, cooking, playing, doing crafts, or whatever.  I lived so far away from both of my grandmothers that I don't have many memories, only family vacations once a year to Idaho.  Hopefully by planning this time each week we can create some memories and add to our already great relationship.  Sometimes life gets busy and so if I don't make it happen I will waste a lot of time doing things that really don't matter.  I love these little guys.

This is my mom with Joshua.  What a miracle it was to see him come into the world.  Grandma Wilding is a wonderful grandmother.  She has 38 grandchildren (with 39 on the way) & 7 great grandchildren.
This is Grandma Craft with Jacob.  She is a very involved grandma.  We will be excited to see her in January when she gets off her mission.  We love her cute laugh.  She has 10 grandchildren & 5 great- grandchildren.
This is my dear sweet neighbor Elayne who is the most angelic grandmother I have ever met.  Her daughter Amber just had # 2 the other day and she brought her over to show me.  When I was holding Kendal I could smell heaven. You know the scripture that says we need to be as a little child?  Was it referring to a new born or a 3 year old?  Let us learn from these little ones; forgiveness, patience, unconditional love, inocense, purity, and so many more lessons if we take the time to look.

Thank you to all those awesome grandmas out there who set such a good example to me of how to be & try their hardest to live up to the beloved name of GRANDMA!!!

That was such a sweet post! I love you so much mom! You are such an amazing person. You have always been an awesome mom. And now you're a wonderful grandma! Caleb just loves you to bits and I'm so grateful that he has a grandma like you who stays involved in his life and everything he is up to. We are so grateful to live close to both of Caleb's Grandma's. It is a big blessing. Thanks again for being an amazing mom and grandma!

I love this post! The word "grandma" makes my heart all soft and mushy! I named my dog after my grandma in fact. Now, some people would say that was less than flattering, but you know how much I adore my dog so you know the extent of the compliment! Everytime I call my dog I think of my sweet grandma and remember her with fondness.

Your a wonderful Grandma Belinda. Your children and grandchildren are lucky to have you. Here-Here for the "Grandma Hour" idea. I say go for it!

Thank you also for all the nice things you said on my blog. You're so encouraging and good to me. I love you! You looked fabulous in your "horehound" coat, by the way.

I can't wait for my mom to be a grandma to my little girl. It's so great to see Brian's mom already being a great grandma to her grandkids. She works so hard at maintaining relationships with her grandkids and they love coming over and visiting. I love to see my mom so excited to become a grandma and know she'll do a great job and that my kids will love her to pieces and have such a great relationship with her. You're a great grandma Belinda!
