Get away to Mom's House

Everyone needs a place to go to regroup, refresh and renew their spirits. I have a mother-in-law that is close to perfect as they come. I told Stan on Saturday that I needed to get-away and have some alone time. He suggested that I go for few days to his mom's house. She is the most peaceful person I know. I am ending my first day of solitude and it was heavenly. I was so needing this. I slept in, stayed in my pajamas until 4pm, read whatever I wanted to read for as long as I wanted to read, pondered, prayed, studied. I have been reading a book called "Achieving Your Life's Mission" by Randal Wright. He suggested that you break down your patriarchal blessing with 5 questions:
1. What gifts and talents are mentioned?
2. What opportunities will you have in this life?
3. What blessings will you receive?
4. What counsel and teachings does your blessing give you?
5. What insights are given concerning your life mission?

This was an interesting exercise to go through today. I finished my day by going to dinner and a play with my mother-in-law and her friend. I have great plans for tomorrow; the temple, more reading, studying, setting goals and schedule for myself as well as my family. I told my mother-in-law that this will definitely become a tradition with me. Stan I might need one of these every six months. Thanks for holding down the fort while I'm away. Sure love ya

Sound heavenly. Will Barbara open up her house to non family members? I'm glad you're getting a chance to relax, think, and regroup. Call me when you get home.

Oh how lovely! It is a great indicator to see how you are spending your "free time"! What an amazing woman you are! I love the patriarchal blessing questions. I'm excited to read mine and do some self evaluating! Loves, H

Belinda, you are always teaching me something. I would never thought of spending precious free time to rejuvenate myself spiritually. But how right you are. Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful experience! You are amazing and very inspiring! How fun to be able to get away to your mother-in-laws! I went to a class of Randal Wright's and I loved it. I will for sure look for his book!
