Dishes

I love the dishes
I love the pots and pans
I love the silverware
I love dishwater hands
I love to do them all
After every meal
Bom Dee Auda, Boom Dee Auda, Boom Dee Auda, Boom Dee Aye
(Sung to the tune of "I love the Mountain, I love the Roling Hills....)

No, not really but tonight was one of those moments to record in history when it was actually fun. I should have taken a before and after picture of our kitchen. Each member of our family was involved in the process to clean up the kitchen. Joshua asked,"I thought you're not suppose to work on Sunday". We explained to him that we need to eat, so therefore need to clean up the mess. All five of us were busy at work in the kitchen having so much fun talking. The cool thing is Jacob was whinning about not getting enough dishes to dry. I love it when they are still at this stage when they actually enjoy working.

Our new daily dish plan came as a result of one of my friends husband's family. Each member of the family had a small job each night, so the burden didn't fall on one person and you get the dishes done in a fraction of the time. She told me at family functions, his side of the family was always so helpful, not leaving the work for a few people. They all pitched in and helped. I love that. So I decided to try this new dish plan. I liked the feeling of serving, working together for a common goal. Everyone loves a clean kitchen. Doing the dishes can be fun. I want to raise helpful, happy boys. I'll let you know how it goes.

We are trying to implement one plan at a time. I am so excited about our new Family Home Evening Plan that I gained inspiration for in Relief Society today. Thanks to Christine Barger. Her lesson was based on Elder Bednar's last conference talk when he talks about coming to FHE prepared to act, not just to be acted upon.

Hey, don't forget your song..."I'm gunna act (clap, clap) and not be acted upon. Keep my life in focus, I'll sing this little song...."

P.S. Send your crew over to my house do my dishes when you're done with yours.
